Eugenics Wars on Earth come to an end after Khan Noonien Singh
escapes in a sleeper ship with other genetically-enhanced "superhumans".
- 2063:
Zephram Cochrane invents warp 1 capable ship, the Phoenix,
and initiates first contact with Vulcans. World War III ends.
- 2151:
Launching of NX-01 Enterprise, commanded by Captain
Jonathan Archer. First contact between humans and Klingons,
Suliban, Andorians, and other alien races.
- 2153:
A mysterious race known as the Xindi attack Earth. Enterprise
pursues the Xindi back to the Delphic Expanse for retribution.
- 2266-2271:
Fourth five-year mission of U.S.S. Enterprise, under
command of Captain James T. Kirk.
- 2293:
Qo'nos' moon, Praxis explodes, paving the way for an alliance
between the Federation and the Klingons.
- 2311:
Treaty of Cheron signed between the Federation and Romulans,
which states that the Federation cannot develop cloaking technology
and solidifies the Romulan Neutral Zone. Romulans begin second
period of isolation.
- 2354:
Romulans attack Narendra III. U.S.S. Enterprise-C,
under command of Captain Rachel Garrett, is destroyed by the
Romulan forces. Solidification of Federation-Klingon alliance.
- 2364-2371:
Launching of U.S.S. Enterprise-D under command of Captain
Jean-Luc Picard. First contact with Q, the Borg, and several
other alien races. A resurgence of Romulan activity assumes
during this time period.
- 2367-2368:
Klingon Civil War. Duras faction, backed by Romulans, defeated
by Chancellor Gowron.
- 2374-2375:
The Federation, Klingons, and Romulans ally themselves together
to fight the alliance of Cardassians, Breen, and Dominion. The
Dominion lose the war and return to the Gamma quadrant. Cardassia
Prime falls. Captain Benjamin Sisko disappears, presumed missing
in action. Chancellor Gowron is killed by Starfleet officer
Worf; General Martok assumes command of the Klingon High Council.
- Mid-2375:
Launching of U.S.S. Endeavour.
- 2575-2580: Second Dominion War. Despite their failed attempt
of domination of the Alpha Quadrant, the Founders launch a
second offensive in the late 26th century. All major powers
in the quadrant ally themselves against this threat, but with
heavy losses. The Federation, Klingons, Romulans, and Cardassians
suffer horribly at the new insurgence. Only by sheer luck do
they manage to drive off the invaders.
- 2645-2650: The Borg invade the Alpha Quadrant. The major
powers in the quadrant are still trying to recuperate after
the Second Dominion War, and their defenses are considerably
low. The Borg first assimilate the Romulan Star Empire, acquiring
cloaking technology, and decimate the Cardassian Union and
Klingon Empire. By 2648, only the Federation remained as pockets
of resistance in the other empires fought against overwhelming
odds. By 2650, only a handful of Starfleet vessels are in service
and only a limited number of officers to staff them.
